|
|
We in WAMA, have a single, overriding objective. It is to foster
positive and professional working relationships between
manufacturers and sales agencies. As more manufacturers turn to
Manufacturers' Representatives as the most economical means of
marketing their products and services,
|
the responsibility of the Wisconsin Association of Manufacturers'
Agents, Inc. increases proportionally. Our association is dedicated
to encouraging the establishment and preservation of successful
manufacturer/representative relationships.

WAMA
Philosophy |
|
It is the philosophy of WAMA members to conduct all
our activities with decency and honesty and to refrain
from exploiting anyone, anywhere, at any time. All activities
should be conducted on the basis of common sense and
fairness. |

Ethical
Standards |
|
I.
Representative's Responsibility
-
Comply with the established policies of the manufacturer.
-
Conscientiously covers the territory assigned.
- Avoid
misrepresentation in any form or manner.
-
Restrict lines of accounts with principals to those
that can be well handled.
- Refrain
from representing lines, products and goods which
compete with those lines, products and goods already
contracted for representation.
- Give
the manufacturer the same loyal service as the representative,
operating his or her own business, expects from their
own employees.
-
Place service of your accounts ahead of any personal
gain as your objective is constant improvement and
progress.
|
|
II.
Manufacturer's Responsibility:
-
Enter into a fair and clearly worded written agreement
with the Manufacturers' Representative, defining essential
details of the arrangement agreed upon to avoid future
misunderstandings.
- Territorial
arrangements shall normally exclude any house accounts.
-
Refrain from any modification whatever of the terms
of such agreement, except by mutual consent after
full and friendly discussion of the reasons for such
desired modification.
- Refrain
from absorbing, refusing or cutting the Manufacturers'
Representative's established commissions; and
- Agree
to practical and defined means for friendly arbitration
of all controversial points that may arise, between
representative and principal.
|
|
III. Representative to Representative Responsibility:
- Refrain
from soliciting from manufacturers the known lines
or accounts of other established Manufacturers' Representatives.
- The
representative, considering a new line, shall make
every effort to be sure that previous affiliation
has been severed and also to secure the benefit of
the previous representative's experience with the
manufacturer.
- Exchange
trade information of mutual interest, and cooperate
to enhance the professional relationship of the Manufacturers'
Representative and his principal by supporting the
Wisconsin Association of Manufacturers' Agents, Inc.,
which was established for that purpose.
- Subscribe
to WAMA's aims and objectives, and in every practical
way work to advance the marketing interest of all
Manufacturers' Representative's and their principals.
